Hi, what are you looking for?

Singer Betty wright passes at the age of 66

This time last week, Chaka Khan was asking everyone to pray for Betty Wright. She wrote on twitter, Calling all my #PrayWarriorsMy beloved sister, Betty Wright @MsBettyWright, is now in need of all your prayers” This immediately made fans concerned about the health of the iconic singer. Today , on mother’s day, the worst has come true. Betty Wright has passed. We remember the iconic Betty Wright.

Originally from Miami, Wright burst on the scene with Girls Can’t Do What Guys Can do but jumped into stardom with her single “Clean Up Woman” which was a song that pushed beyond the limits of her age (She was 18 at the time). Even though she never really jumped the pop charts again she became a mainstay on R&B radio with songs like Let Me Be Your Lovemaker, Shoorah Shoorah, Tonight is The Night and Where is the Love.

She will be missed.
