Verzuz, which started as a response to the pandemic, has been hosting increasingly heavyweight battles each week. It has featured collaborators like Brandy and Monica, in the past Sunday’s reunion of nemeses and which was watched by a purported 1.2 million viewers worldwide.

After arranging wildly popular battles between the likes of Erykah Badu and Jill Scott and  Riley and Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, the organizers of Verzuz said Tuesday the next installment of the viral Instagram Live series will pit Patti LaBelle against Gladys Knight.

The two R&B icons will go head to head from the Fillmore in Philadelphia on Sunday at 5 p.m. Pacific. Y’all gotta get dressed up in ya Sunday’s best for this classic affair,” was said in a social media post by the organizers.

LaBelle has many classic hits under her belt such as “If Only You Knew,” “Somebody Loves You Baby,” “Love, Need and Want You,” “Lady Marmalade” and “The Right Kinda Lover.” She has been nominated for 13 Grammy awards and has won two times.

Knight, on the other hand, has a long list of hit records herself including “Missing You,” “Midnight Train to Georgia,” “The Makings of You,” “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” and “Love Overboard.” She has won seven Grammy awards.

The battle between Knight and LaBelle is sure to be one for the books. Who do you think will win?
