According to reports, the sequel to the 1988 hit movie ‘Coming to America’ will debut on Amazon Prime in March 2021. This comes after Amazon acquired worldwide rights to the movie sequel.
‘Coming 2 America’ was reportedly sold to Amazon Studios for $125 million. Grossing $288 million worldwide, in its initial release, it’s not unexpected. Initially, it was said the film would premiere on Amazon Prime in December of 2020, according to Variety, but it appears that may have changed.
‘Coming 2 America’ will be directed by Craig Brewer with the script written by ‘Black-ish Creator Kenya Barris. Still retaining some of the original cast, the line up will include a host of popular faces. These include; Eddie Murphy, Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, John Amos, Paul Bates, Tracy Morgan, Wesley Snipes, Rotimi, KiKi Layne, Rick Ross, Leslie Jones, and Jermaine Fowler.
What can we expect in ‘Coming 2 America’? In the sequel, newly-crowned King Akeem and Semmi embark on a new adventure that has them traversing the globe from Zamunda, back to Queens.
