Yes, we are in the middle of a pandemic. But that’s not stopping music’s biggest night.
On Tuesday, the nominations for the 2021 Grammy Awards were announced. Like many events this year, the reading of the nominations had to happen virtually. However, stars like Megan Thee Stallion, Sharon Osbourne, Gayle King, Dua Lipa, Yemi Alade, and a few others were on board for the live stream as they announced the latest nominees.
With a total of 83 categories spanning across various genres of music, we major names like Beyoncé, Jhené Aiko, Da Baby, Roddy Ricch, Drake, Lil Baby, Justin Bieber, Chloe X Halle, and many others are being recognized for their amazing work over the past year.
Beyoncé however, leads the line with the most nominations. She earned a total of nine nominations – for both her solo and collaborative work. She has bagged not one, but two nominations for record of the year – Her song “Black Parade,” and her work with Megan Thee Stallion on the “Savage” Remix. Other nominations include; Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance, Best Rap Performance, among others.
